Thilini is a dedicated and compassionate graduate holding a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Liverpool John Moores University (UK) through the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). Her passion for child development, mental health, and inclusive education drives her commitment to supporting children with diverse learning and developmental needs.

At Ceylon Steps, Thilini successfully completed an internship programme, where she supported children with ASD, ADHD, developmental delays, dyspraxia, and social and behavioural challenges through therapy-based interventions. Her role involved providing occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavioural therapy, and special needs education sessions, promoting communication, developmental, and daily living skills among the children she worked with. Through this hands-on experience, she strengthened her understanding of child psychology and multidisciplinary therapeutic approaches.

Prior to that, Thilini completed an internship in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) at Serenity Well-being, where she gained valuable exposure to counselling techniques, emotional intelligence, and community outreach initiatives. This experience broadened her perspective on holistic well-being and highlighted the importance of compassionate mental health care.

Thilini’s journey in psychology reflects her enthusiasm for learning, adaptability, and genuine care for others. Her passion for special education and therapeutic support continues to drive her goal of fostering inclusive environments that empower children to reach their fullest potential.
